Neighbors came together in Lynbrook Wednesday night to help families who were forced out of their homes by a fire - a week before Christmas.
"This is something we could do to give back to the community." said Anthony Falsitta, president of the Lynbrook Police Benevolent Association.
Falsitta tells News 12 the Lynbrook PBA organized a fundraiser at Craft Kitchen & Tap House almost as soon as they heard about the fire.
He says all of the proceeds from the fundraiser will be donated to the families.
The fire broke out Monday afternoon at a building on Merrick Road.
Twenty-eight people from six apartments were displaced, including 13 children.
