Officials have announced that two more Long Island schools will be shut down due to a decline in enrollment.
Dix Hills' Chestnut Hill and Forest Park elementary schools will close down at the end of the year. Both schools are part of the Half Hollow Hills School District.
The school board voted unanimously to shutter the buildings.
The district has not announced what will happen to the faculty at the two schools or what they will do with the two facilities.
Closing the two schools is expected to save the Half Hollow Hills School District $3 million.
