The Monday following Christmas is a very busy day for travel – many flights were delayed over the weekend due to the snow and sleet, so it's a game of catch up at Newark Liberty International Airport.

It was a smooth day for travelers heading home for the new year.

“So, it's not snowing, so we feel comfortable, just excited to get home,” said one traveler heading home to California.

The holiday hustle and bustle is keeping everyone's spirits bright, as folks are making their way back home after time with their families.

"I’ve been traveling all throughout the holidays there seems to be no issues," said Hayes, returning home to New Jersey.

A record 122 million people were expected to travel for the year-end holiday season — between Dec 20 and Jan. 1 — according to AAA.
