A man was arrested for allegedly attacking a minor at a skatepark in Greenlawn.
The man came to the skatepark, which is right next to a baseball field, to get a ball back on May 21. Authorities say violence ensued.
A video of the incident shows the man in a baseball uniform pushing and grabbing a 15-year-old boy who had the baseball in his pocket. Another video shows the man throwing the teenager's bicycle off of a skate ramp.
"It's really scary he did that," says Trent Rounsavall, the alleged victim in the video. "It could have happened to someone else, maybe someone a lot smaller than me who could have gotten a lot more hurt."
According to the boy's mother, Terry Lipton, the man also slapped her son in the face before the video began.
The man, identified by police as 36-year-old Andrew Chiaro, was arrested Thursday and has been charged with third-degree assault.
According to a Town of Huntington spokesperson, the teenager was refusing to give the ball back.
The spokesperson also says Chiaro was also suspended from his adult baseball league for 10 games. The league also no longer allows his team to play in any Huntington Town parks.
Rounsavall and his mother say the adults had been yelling at him from the start and didn't give him a chance to return it.
The teenager has returned to the skatepark but says he is constantly looking over his shoulder because of the altercation.
"I don't want my son, I don't want any kid to fear being beaten up by a grown man," Lipton says.
The Town of Huntington is also looking into possibly putting up nets or additional fences to prevent foul ball from entering the skatepark.
