The Long Island Rail Road's planned schedule adjustments are set to go into effect Monday, less than a week away from possible union strikes.
These adjustments were preplanned and will not affect rush hour service, according to the LIRR.
The changes affect the Ronkonkoma and Port Jefferson branches, with a new weekday train departing Farmingdale at 4:32 a.m., making stops at Bethpage, Hicksville, Westbury, Mineola, New Hyde Park, Jamaica and then arriving at Penn Station at 5:26 a.m.
Additionally, the 4:12 a.m. train from Ronkonkoma will no longer stop at Farmingdale, Bethpage, Hicksville or Mineola and will now depart at 4:14 a.m.
According to the LIRR, midday weekday service will resume east of Ronkonkoma as well as at Westbury, which has been restored to every 30 minutes following the completion of work done on the tracks.
Weekday evening service between Jamaica and Atlantic Terminal will be reduced to every 30 minutes starting at 9 p.m. for westbound trains and 10 p.m. for eastbound trains.
