An Island Park man was arrested Saturday, and while being taken into custody, exposed himself and four police officers to an unknown substance.
According to police, officers responded to a disturbance at a residence around 4 p.m. Upon arrival, they learned there was a verbal argument between Michael Leonetti and a 62-year-old individual.
Police say the argument escalated, and Leonetti allegedly pushed the older man to the floor and punched him in the head.
Investigators say the victim, fearing for his safety, told Leonetti he was calling the police. Leonetti then allegedly took the man’s phone and threw it against a wall, damaging the phone and leaving a hole in the wall.
During the investigation, police say Leonetti was found in possession of a pill bottle containing an unknown substance.
Four police officers and Leonetti were taken to the hospital for exposure to that unknown substance.
He is charged with two-counts of criminal mischief, menacing and assault.
