The Cold Spring Harbor girls basketball team showed they were a cut above the rest, winning the state championship on Saturday.
And to celebrate, the school district’s athletic director volunteered to cut his hair.
Michael Bongino promised the team he’d get a buzz cut if the team won the state championship.
True to his word, players took turns with the clippers, each shaving off a row of hair.
The team came from behind in the fourth quarter to pull off the win.
“It was a promise I made to them if they won the state title, and they did that Saturday night in dramatic fashion,” Bongino said.
