Bronx residents were invited into the haunted halls of the 48th Precinct to experience some serious scares on Thursday.
The annual two-day event kicked off on Wednesday and attracts nearly 1,000 kids a year, walking through several fright-filled scenes created by the officers themselves.
“We work really hard to bridge the gap between the police department and us. They see us in the costumes… and it makes them realize that we’re people too,” said Ashley Delia, youth coordination officer at the 48th Precinct.
Officers are reminding parents to check their children’s Halloween candy this season and urge them to not allow kids to go trick-or-treating alone.
