The city's $1.7 billion Hunts Point Access Improvement project has been a source of frustration for Bronx commuters.
City officials are asking Bronx commuters to be patient for another year as the project continues its third phase.
The Department of Transportation says it will reduce congestion, enhance bicycle and pedestrian safety and reconstruct the Bruckner Expressway by adding a third lane in both directions. It will also replace the Bryant Avenue Pedestrian Bridge.
The Hunts Point Access Improvement project is expected to be completed by the fall of 2025.
