Police say three sisters suffered serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash early Sunday morning on the Long Island Expressway in Lake Ronkonkoma.

Detectives say it happened on Ronkonkoma Avenue and the LIE South Service Road just before 6:30 a.m.

Authorities say Jesilynne Bauer, 20, was driving southbound on Ronkonkoma Avenue when her car collided with a Jeep that was traveling east on South Service Road.

Jesilynne and her two younger sisters, Brooke Bauer, 19, and Madysen Bauer, 16, all of Centereach, were taken to Stony Brook Hospital to be treated for serious injuries that were not life-threatening.

The driver of the Jeep, 27-year-old Jay Perez, of Shirley, and the passenger, 54-year-old Elizabeth Gutierrez, of Shirley, declined medical treatment at the scene.

Both vehicles were impounded for a safety check.

Police ask anyone with information about the crash to call the Suffolk County Police Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
