A Brentwood woman has received several summonses after making an illegal turn that caused a crash and closed an intersection in Hauppauge, according to Suffolk police.

Police say around 9:40 a.m. Marta Pineda was driving a 2008 Acura SUV eastbound on Route 347 when she attempted to make an illegal left turn northbound onto Route 111. The Acura struck a 2019 Toyota SUV which then hit a 2020 Hyundai Sedan.

The 68-year-old passenger in the Toyota was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Toyota was taken to the same hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say Pineda, 45, was also treated for minor injuries. The driver of the sedan was not injured.

Suffolk police are asking anyone with information on this crash to contact them at 631-854- 8452.
