86-year-old man killed in Dix Hills single-car crash

An 86-year-old man was killed and an 84-year-old woman was injured in a single-car crash Saturday afternoon Dix Hills.
Detectives say it happened on Burrs Lane at 1:50 p.m.
Suffolk police say the man was driving a 2026 Subaru northbound on Burrs Lane when he lost control of the vehicle, which then left the roadway and struck a tree.
The man was taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip where he was pronounced dead.
The woman was also taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital with minor injuries.
The identity of the man killed was being withheld pending notification next of kin as of Saturday night.
The Subaru was impounded for a safety check.
