St. John's University's campus in Oakdale, including the Bourne Mansion, has been sold to a nonprofit educational group based in India.
Newsday says the Amity Education Group paid $22.5 million for the property.
Amity has over 150,000 students around the world.
The Board of Regents still has to approve Amity to operate a college at that location.
The Bourne Mansion is a popular wedding venue.
