It’s the end of an era in Malverne. The cinema that stood on Main Street since 1947 is closing its doors.
The Malverne Cinema & Art Center announced in an email Friday that it is closing its doors.
The owners tell News 12 they were not able to come to an agreement with the landlord to extend their stay.
Movie-goers tell News 12 they are heartbroken to see it go.
The owners have owned the theater for the past 37 years.
They say it is unclear if the property will remain a movie theater.
