A Bellport man has been indicted on disturbing allegations of animal cruelty.
Police say David Iglesias, 34, of West Islip, cut his dog’s ears off, which eventually caused her to die.
It allegedly happened after the 13-year-old dog was attacked by Iglesias’ other dog.
Police say instead of bringing the dog to the vet, he tried to use glue to close the wounds.
When Iglesias brought the dog to a vet a month later, she was in septic shock and had to be euthanized, according to officials.
Iglesias was indicted Friday for charges including aggravated cruelty to animals. He is due back in court on Aug. 1.
