A Huntington man is accused of posing as a licensed contractor in Suffolk County.
Robert Cortese operated under Tool Time Construction, Inc.
Homeowners say he scammed them out of nearly $100,000 and never finished work on their dream home.
The Suffolk district attorney says the Huntington man also presented a forged Town of Islip building permit to a customer in 2021.
Cortese is due back in court in August and faces up to seven years behind bars if convicted.
