3h agoThe Baymen's Heritage Association has raised nearly $250,000 to fund a proposed monument at Theodore Roosevelt Park in Oyster Bay.
A large donation was made by Long Island star musician Billy Joel.
The monument would honor the town's baymen who lost their lives on the job.
The association says more funding is still needed to get the monument built.
