A Friday night house fire left at least one person hurt and a family of four displaced in Long Beach, according to authorities.
Officials say crews responded to the residence at 69 Boyd St. just after 10:30 p.m.
The fire was discovered in a garage attached to the home.
Homeowner Nicole Schnatz says when she heard the fire alarm, she woke up her husband, and they began to throw water on the flames.
She says she, her husband, their 17-year-old son and 14-year-old daughter, and their dog made it out of the house before the fire department arrived.
Seventy-five firefighters from five different departments worked to extinguish the flames.
EMS treated the injured individual at the scene.
The Long Beach Fire Department says weather conditions and a downed power line slowed their progress.
The Schnatz family had to move out of the home as of Saturday night.
The family says they have no heat, no water and lots of smoke damage, but are thankful for their community and the first responders.
A cause of the fire was not immediately known.
