Man accused of stealing teens’ e-bike at gunpoint in Inwood
Police say he stole an e-bike from two 15-year-old boys.

A 26-year-old man has been arrested after robbing two teenagers of their e-bike at gunpoint in Inwood Saturday night, according to police.
Investigators say Lavon Smith, of Far Rockaway, approached two 15-year-old boys who were riding the e-bike near Bayview Avenue.
Police said Smith demanded that they hand over their bike and then showed a handgun. The victims complied out of fear, and the suspect fled the scene on the e-bike.
Officers located Smith and took him into custody. A stolen firearm was recovered.
Smith is charged with robbery, criminal use of a firearm, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of stolen property and menacing.
He will be arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.
