Apple is being sued by the United States Department of Justice and more than a dozen states.

The anti-trust lawsuit accuses Apple of operating like a monopoly and using anti-competitive tactics to make their products better and others worse.

The DOJ says Apple restricts competing smartwatches from working with iPhones, blocks new apps and degrades how Android messages appear on iPhones.

“Any iPhone user who has ever seen a green text message or received a tiny grainy video can attest Apple's anti-competitive conduct also includes making it more difficult for iPhone users to message with users of non-Apple products,” says Attorney General Merrick Garland.

Apple denies the allegations.

In a statement, the company said the lawsuit sets a “dangerous precedent” and hinders its ability to make compelling and consumer-friendly technology.
