The American Heart Association is celebrating 100 years of saving lives.
Survivors were honored at a gala in Manhattan, including a 13-year-old boy from Franklin Square.
As News 12 has reported, Jack Foley was born without the left side of his heart.
Thanks to three open heart surgeries, he is now living a normal life and even playing hockey.
"I'm just so thankful to be here tonight, and so honored to be able to give hope to others that have dealt with what I dealt with," said Foley.
The event featured stories from survivors along with dinner and plenty of dancing.
