Four new Evolve charging stations are now open in Riverhead, and four others recently opened in Commack.
Evolve now has 100 high-speed charging stations across New York state.
It is part of Gov. Kathy Hochul's plan to have all cars sold in the state to be zero emission by 2035.
"We're seeking to protect the environment, battle climate chance and fundamentally because the transport industry represents 40% of the emissions within New York state and we have a commitment to reduce emissions by 85% by 2050," says Sarah Salati, of the New York Power Authority.
Riverhead and Commack are the only two Evolve high-speed charging stations on Long Island, but they say more are opening in Southampton in October.
