Former Sag Harbor PTA vice president pleads guilty to using $10K in school funds on shopping sprees
The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office says Hope Livingston used the PTA debit card for personal expenses at Costco, Amazon, Target, Lululemon and multiple local businesses.

A former Sag Harbor Elementary School Parent Teacher Association official accused of stealing more than $10,000 in school funds has pleaded guilty to grand larceny.
Hope Livingston, 50, served as PTA co-treasurer from July 2021 to June 2022 and vice president from July 2022 to June 2024.
The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office says she used the PTA debit card for personal expenses at Costco, Amazon, Target, Lululemon and multiple local businesses.
She also repeatedly withdrew sums of cash directly from the PTA bank account, according to prosecutors.
The theft was discovered when the bank account was turned over to new PTA board members in September of 2024.
In a release announcing her plea, District Attorney Ray Tierney stated that his office has “zero tolerance for corruption.”
“Stealing from a school’s PTA is not just a crime, it is a betrayal of our children and community,” he said.
Livingston is expected to be sentenced to five years of probation when she returns to court on Oct. 6.
She will also be ordered to pay $14,487 in restitution to the Sag Harbor Elementary School PTA.
