A 75-year-old man drowned inside a backyard pool Friday night in Stony Brook.
Suffolk police say they received a 911 call from a family member reporting that Anthony Izzo was found unresponsive in the water around 7:45 p.m.
Officers and members of the Stony Brook Fire Department responded to the scene on Malverne Lane and pulled Izzo from the pool.
They performed CPR before he was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, where medical officials pronounced him dead.
