Residents in the Keasbey section of Woodbridge Township are upset after a large crack on Smith Street has left the roadway closed for months.
The crack appeared in the middle of the street September of last year, which was caused by a nearby construction project.
Since then, the street has remained closed leaving residents to take alternate routes to get home. Smith Street connects Woodbridge to Perth Amboy and provides access to major routes like the Garden State Parkway.
"They say it was going to take one month to start but you see they haven't started we are still waiting. We have to go to ShopRite across the bridge and go back the same way," says Jaime Ojdea, of Woodbridge township.
Residents say they received a letter that construction will start this month but haven’t received update since.
