Disabled train causes LIRR delays, cancellations and reroutes

MTA officials say the train was disabled in one of the Penn Station tunnels.

A disabled NJ Transit train caused delays, cancellations and reroutes for the Long Island Railroad on Wednesday morning.

MTA officials say the train was disabled in one of the Penn Station tunnels.

The MTA posted the following schedule changes:

Westbound:

  • The 7:28am train from Babylon to Penn Station will operate to Penn Station as scheduled.

  • The 8:16am train from Babylon to Penn Station is being rerouted to Grand Central

  • The 8:18am train from Wantagh to Penn Station is canceled. Customers can take the 8:06am train from Babylon to Penn Station.

  • The 8:30am train from Babylon to Penn Station will be canceled at Jamaica.

  • The 8:41am train from Babylon to Penn Station is canceled. Customers can take the 9:02am train from Babylon to Penn Station.

Eastbound:

  • The 8:13am train from Grand Central to Babylon is operating 15-20 minutes late.
