Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney says a drug operation that stretched from the Bronx to Long Island was dismantled following an investigation spanning months.

Tierney says they seized enough fentanyl to kill the entire population of Suffolk County.

Authorities say they recovered fentanyl, heroin, cocaine and illegal weapons.

Six people were arrested.

During the investigation, undercover officers purchased 7,441 fentanyl pills, which were made to look like oxycodone pills, Tierney’s office said.

“Fentanyl is being mixed in all drugs, in all forms and shapes, and many of the victims are being poisoned because they are unknowingly ingesting a lethal dose of fentanyl," said Frank Tarantino, DEA special agent in charge.
