Tentative agreement reached between Pratt & Whitney and union workers

Union members will vote on the contract on Tuesday at the at the Toyota Oakdale Theatre. Members at the East Hartford and Middletown locations have been on strike since May 5.

A tentative agreement has been reached between Pratt & Whitney and International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) union, the company announced Friday.

The company says an agreement was reached on a revised contract that it says addresses "key points of interest among union members."

Friday's announcement comes as negotiations resumed Thursday.

Union members will vote on the contract on Tuesday at the at the Toyota Oakdale Theatre. The union says it will maintain its picket lines until that new contract is accepted by members.

Members at the East Hartford and Middletown locations have been on strike since May 5.

The union had said that its top issues were general wage increases, retirement security, rising health insurance costs and job security.
