2 indicted in fatal Neptune Township shooting

Kedrick Chatmon, 37, of Keansburg, and Lamare R. Walker, 45, of Barnegat, were indicted on charges of first-degree murder and first-degree conspiracy to commit murder in the death of 39-year-old Marques Mills.

A Monmouth County grand jury has indicted two men in connection with the fatal shooting of a Neptune Township man in May.
Kedrick Chatmon, 37, of Keansburg, and Lamare R. Walker, 45, of Barnegat, were indicted on charges of first-degree murder and first-degree conspiracy to commit murder in the death of 39-year-old Marques Mills. Chatmon was also charged with weapons offenses.
On May 14, Neptune Township police responded to a report of a shooting at the intersection of Hillview Drive and Edgemere Road. Officers found Mills inside a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. He later died at a hospital.
A joint investigation by the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office and Neptune Township police led to the identification of Chatmon and Walker as suspects. Both were arrested on Nov. 21.
