A Lynbrook mother accused of leaving her child, 6, alone to wander the boardwalk in Long Beach pleaded not guilty in city court yesterday afternoon, according to court records.
She is charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
Long Beach police said they responded to the boardwalk near Laurelton Boulevard just before noon yesterday in response to reports of a child left unattended.
Officials said they found the kid and then arrested the mother, Nousaiba Sifaddine, 34.
Investigators said the mother told them she had "gone for an extended walk" but did not say how long the kid was left alone.
The 6-year-old child was released to the care of a relative, according to officials.
Sifaddine is scheduled to return to court next Wednesday, July 16, at 10:15 a.m., according to court records.
