Police: 32-year-old man fatally stabbed in Mineola

Police say a 32-year-old man died after being stabbed early Friday morning in Mineola.

It happened on Roosevelt Place just before 12:30 a.m., according to detectives.

Authorities say officers responded to the scene for a 911 call about stabbing, where they found the victim with a stab wound to his abdomen.

Detectives say the 32-year-old man was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Police say a 15-year-old was arrested at the scene.

The suspect was charged with murder in the second degree. He will be arraigned on Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.

Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman told News 12 the suspect was in the country illegally.

The names of the suspect and victim had not been released as of Friday night.
