Suffolk PD issues warning following overdose deaths in Coram

Police say homicide section and narcotics section detectives are working to determine the source of the drugs.

Suffolk County police issued a warning to residents of a bad batch of drugs that led to the deaths of three people in Coram on Friday.

Detectives say a person was also seriously injured.

In a statement, Suffolk police said, "We are urging people to use caution due to this potentially deadly substance present in the drugs."

The department says it has deployed additional resources to the area, including its Medical Crisis Action Team (MedCAT) "who are specially trained in advanced life support."

Police say homicide section and narcotics section detectives are working to determine the source of the drugs.

The Suffolk County Police Department Homicide Section and Narcotics Section detectives are investigating the deaths and continuing to identify the source of the drugs.
