Two people were killed in a one-car crash on the Southern State Parkway in Bay Shore early Saturday morning, according to state police.

It happened in the eastbound lanes near Exit 42 shortly before 1:30 a.m.

State police say an Acura Integra veered off the roadway and crashed into trees in the parkway's center median.

The driver, identified as 21-year-old of Aliem Davis, of Bay Shore, was killed. The passenger, 22-year-old Elliot Rodriguez, of Bay Shore, was also pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation. State police are asking anyone with information on the crash to call 631-756-3300.
