For the second time in two weeks, police investigated the attempted abduction of a Glen Cove teen Friday.
Glen Cove police said a high school freshman was approached on Duck Pond Road, less than a mile away from school. The man, who authorities describe as white or Hispanic and in his 40s, offered the teen a ride in his red Nissan or Toyota, police said. The would-be victim declined and told his parents, who contacted police. Officials said the person never got out of his car and did not make physical contact with the student.
Two weeks ago, a seventh-grade girl was approached by a potential abductor. Police said the suspect in that case has been apprehended.
Anyone with information on the most recent incident is asked to contact the Glen Cove Police Department at (516) 676-1000.
