A woman and a 4-year-old boy were injured when a fire broke out inside an Amityville home.

Flames were seen shooting out of the basement as firefighters rushed into the home on Ronek Drive around 9 p.m. Thursday.

Suffolk police say a 51-year-old woman was taken to Nassau University Medical Center, and the boy was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital.

Both of them are expected to survive.

A third man in the house was not hurt.
