? A 20-year-old Bronx woman is being held on $50,000 bail Tuesday for allegedly killing her aunt in a drunk driving accident.
The incident happened at Splish Splash Monday, where police say Yerardin Gil was driving while intoxicated and without a license.
Gil had no comment as she was led into the courtroom for arraignment Tuesday morning. There, she admitted drinking Corona beer before the accident.
Police say the accident happened around 6 p.m. in the water park's parking lot where Gil was leaving her family?s picnic. They say she was going to pick up other family members who were still in the park.
Gil allegedly drove her family's SUV forward and hit her aunt, mother and stepfather, who were sitting on the grass in front of the car. Rosa Ortiz, 43, was killed and the other relatives were injured.
Detective Sgt. Joseph Loggia says the exact circumstances behind the crash are unclear.
Gil?s attorney says he?s still waiting for the results of a blood alcohol test. Police say the charges could be upgraded based on the results. Gil, a citizen of the Dominican Republic, could be deported if convicted, according to police.
