A Stony Brook University student has been indicted for allegedly dealing drugs from his dorm.
As News 12 has reported, William Turri, 20, of Fairport, NY, sold methamphetamine pills to an undercover police officer on multiple occasions, according to prosecutors.
During the investigation, the Suffolk officer contacted Turri via Instagram and arranged two meetups at his dorm room where Turri handed over the pills for money.
On April 27, a third sale was planned, but this time other members of Suffolk police came along and arrested the man.
A search warrant was then executed at the Stony Brook dorm and law enforcement recovered over two ounces of methamphetamine pressed into orange pills resembling Adderall, authorities say.
“This defendant allegedly turned a college dorm room into a methamphetamine distribution hub,” said District Attorney Ray Tierney.
“We will not tolerate people who peddle poison in our communities, especially those who do so targeting students on college campuses,” Tierney continued.
Turri was also suspended by the university.
