With Valentine's Day falling on a Sunday this year, many will be skipping the fancy dinner and making a big deal out of brunch instead.
For today's Winter on Long Island segment, News 12's Alex Dollin visited a Long Island restaurant with a traditional Sunday brunch.
Roots in West Islip puts its own special flair and flavor in its dishes. The modern French restaurant makes all of its offerings in-house, from breads to ice creams.
Roots is offering brunch Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Some selections include salmon gravlax with potato roast and a horseradish cream, French toast, house-made brioche with fresh fruit and black pepper bacon.
Their brunch will also feature some of their signature cocktails like bloody Marys, mimosas and bellinis.
