Students from William Floyd High School Friday practiced for a career in the fitness industry.
The Mastic Beach school's Personal Training and Nutrition program prepares them to become a certified personal trainer.
They observed and experienced a session designed for senior citizens in the Silver Sneakers program.
Often times when trainers get into the industry, they are excited about working with athlete or people that look just like them," says Wendy Nunez, personal trainer and group fitness instructor. "But the reality is most people looking for personal trainers are older or have some sort of special needs."
The students will be helping Silver Sneakers participants with their fitness routines once they finish the program.
