When Suffolk County voters head to the polls on Election Day, they will have a chance to weigh in on the county's finances in a proposal known as Proposition 2.
The proposed measure would move money from a reserve fund designated for sewer stabilization and put it toward closing the budget gap created by the coronavirus pandemic.
County Executive Steve Bellone says the money would be used to make sure the county has the resources needed to continue fighting COVID-19.
A rally against the bill was held last week. Opponents say the money should go toward keeping Long Island's water clean and not to fixing "his mismanagement."
