Former Rep. George Santos is set to be sentenced in his federal fraud case in just over a week. Prosecutors say his recent social media posts show he is not remorseful.

In a new memo, prosecutors address a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, that Santos made the day they filed their sentencing memorandum.

The former congressman, who represented parts of Long Island, claims the Department of Justice hindered his ability to earn an income and referred to himself as a scapegoat.

Santos pleaded guilty to wire fraud and aggravated identity theft.

Federal prosecutors are calling for Santos to serve an 87-month prison sentence.

News 12 reached out to his attorney but has not heard back.
