Community members came together to mourn the life of a 15-year-old girl who was fatally struck in a car crash in Hunts Point this past Sunday.

Sabrina Villagomez-Gonzalez lost her life on Sunday morning. She was a passenger in the car that investigators say crashed into a parked oil truck.

Seventeen-year-old Aaliyah Torres was also in the vehicle during the crash and is still in the hospital for her injuries.

"She was a minor and maybe it could have been prevented now we can share awareness," said Ana Maeda, a friend of the deceased. "There are other ways we can as a community help these young adults stay here and be safe."

Funeral services for Villagomez-Gonzalez will take place at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Spring Valley on Friday.
