Wake services are being held Monday for a teen killed in a bicycle crash in Suffolk County.

Andrew Salgado, 14, of Miller Place, collided with a truck that was making a turn on Route 25A in Miller Place on March 24, according to police.

As News 12 reported, the boy fell off the bike and was run over by the vehicle. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but died from his injuries on April 30.

Andrew’s brother posted the update on social media calling him the “strongest kid he's ever met.”

Strong Island FC, the travel soccer team that Andrew played on, shared that they will retire his jersey number 44, adding “heartbroken is an understatement.”

There will be two visitations at Branch Funeral Home in Miller Place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The funeral is set for Tuesday morning at St. Louis de Montfort R.C. Church in Sound Beach.
