Nassau families are stepping up and marching for a better future for their children in the Brookville Center for Children's Services' first-ever "Steps Toward Tomorrow" walk.

The fundraiser brought four learning centers from across the county for a 1.5-mile, interactive and sensory-friendly walk.

The goal of the event was to raise money to upgrade communication devices, sensory-based learning spaces and classroom and outdoor enhancements that strengthen daily learning experiences.

Fundraisers say they have already raised over $133,000.
