More than 40 veterans are back home after taking part in the multi-annual Honor Flight.

The group of vets touched down at MacArthur Airport Sunday from Washington, D.C.

They visited the World War II, Korean and Vietnam memorials free of charge as part of the trip.

News 12 spoke to Bert Jablon, a 99-year-old World War II veteran from Syosset, ahead of the meaningful journey and once he landed back in Ronkonkoma.

“Spending it with my friend here, the best part of the day. Was a great experience saluting the people who did the job for us in America,” Jablon said.

Bert was born on March 18, 1927, making him the oldest member of group on the flight.
