Vincente, Mellissa Lombardo, of Massapequa, arraigned on prostitution & money laundering charges
A Massapequa couple has been arraigned on charges for allegedly running an international, high-priced prostitution ring and laundering money.
Vincente and Mellissa Lombardo were arrested by federal officials at their Franklin Place home on Wednesday.
In a 30-page criminal complaint, federal prosecutors say the Lombardos made appointments over the Internet, sending prostitutes as far away as the Middle East.
The Lombardos remain jailed until the judge comes up with an acceptable bail package. They are expected back in court on Aug. 1.
