An East Northport family says vandals are targeting its charity Christmas display. The Tomeo family says the display at its Larkfield Road home has been destroyed twice within the last two days. James Tomeo says more than 30 holiday figures were ruined, including plastic choir boys that were beheaded and huge candy canes split in half.
Tomeo says the Christmas display is an annual tradition in honor of his mother, who died from leukemia. He says this year's display was the largest yet with more than 450 figures and 12,000 lights. Tomeo hopes that police catch the "heartless" people who committed the vandalism. The family has a mailbox as part of the display for people to make donations for leukemia research.
