There are new developments involving the plan to bring high-end adult camp sites to Suffolk County. The Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts has withdrawn its application for so-called glamping sites.
The camp pulled its application last week, saying, it's "more important for us to preserve our 55-year relationship with the neighboring communities."
The plan would have brought 70 glamping tents to underdeveloped parts of the campgrounds in the Melville and Wheatley Heights area.
Community members were concerned about noise, fire hazards and the possibility of trespassers near their home with adults camping there.
