Rabbi Marc Schneier, from Westhampton, is responsible for helping to open a kosher kitchen in Doha, Qatar where the World Cup took place.
Rabbi Schneier is one of the country's most influential rabbis. Schneier’s focus lies with his synagogue in Westhampton and strengthening relations between Muslim and Jewish people in the Middle East.
"I had three requests. First, that there should be accessibility to kosher food. Second, all Jews would be welcome, including Israelis and third, that will be direct flights between Tel Aviv and Doha,” says Schneier.
All of the requests made by Schneier were granted.
With the World Cup ending on Sunday, Schneier says he doesn't know whether there will still be a need for the kosher location in Doha after the games.
