The Ponquogue Bridge reopened Tuesday with limitations by the Suffolk County Department of Public Works, according to the Town of Southampton.

The town says traffic is limited to vehicles under five tons and permitted ambulances.

Suffolk County is continuing emergency repair efforts and hopes to restore the Hampton Bays bridge to full capacity as soon as possible.

The Ponquogue Bridge will also continue to be monitored during the restricted opening and emergency repair.
